The Xi'an City Wall, one of the largest and best preserved ancient city wall in China, was first built during the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty. Witnessing the vicissitudes of history with its simplicity and solemnity, it has now become an iconic cultural symbol of Xi'an.
