The century-old Ren'ai Church in the mountain city lane traditional style area has been transformed into a tourist attraction. As Chongqing's first church building renovation project, this French missionary building, originally built in 1900, has begun trial operation after more than 600 days of restoration. We hope that through hotel’s restaurant ‘White Cliff’, more people can perceive the profound cultural value of mountain city lane, which is more than just a "must-visit" spot. through the city's winding alleyways, connecting historical landmarks such as
Ren'ai Hall, Bodhi Vajra Pagoda, Daqiangba, Tongyuan Gate, and Consulate Alley.
This 3-hour immersive experience takes you through the folds of Chongqing's
"non-flat" streetscape, avoiding crowds and listening to a local
guide who knows Chongqing best recount the stories and authentic sayings of the
region. Enjoy cinematic moments along the cliff side walkways, the Tongyuan
Gate city wall, and the alleyways of the mountain city. Along the way, the
warmth of a bowl of Chongqing-style sweet fermented rice soup with glutinous
rice balls and a cup of covered tea will allow the weight of history and the
warmth of everyday life to blend seamlessly on your palate.
Bodhi Vajra Pagoda
Built in 1930, the pagoda
blends Han and Tibetan styles with Western elements. Standing 26.73 meters
tall, its unique three-tiered stone structure was designed with guidance from
the Tibetan Living Buddha Norna. Construction began in 1930 and was completed
in 1931. During its consecration, dozens of lamas chanted sutras for 14 days to
pray for the souls of the deceased. It was listed as a municipal-level cultural
relic protection unit in 2000. It became the only pagoda in mainland China
built under the supervision of a Tibetan Living Buddha, witnessing the fusion
of Han and Tibetan religions.

After a relaxing break at Ba Le Cafe, head to Beibin Road for the "swallowing light rail" challenge, navigating the 3D magical terrain. In the evening, ascend Hong En Pavilion to await nightfall and watch the lights gradually illuminate this "cyberpunk" city.

Step under the eaves of the Huguang Guild Hall and enjoy a cup of coffee at Xie Ke's Café; stroll along Nanbin Road and learn about Chongqing's modern history of opening up to the outside world at the Chongqing Port Opening Sites and Foreign Firms Site; take a break at the Corner Tower Café of the Palace Museum's Relocation Memorial Hall and wait for the sunset and the city lights to illuminate the night; or, as the evening bell tolls, enter the ancient Ciyun Temple to pray for blessings, immersing yourself in the history and everyday life of old Chongqing.

As Chongqing's first church building renovation project, this French missionary building, originally built in 1900, has begun operation after more than 600 days of restoration.
